Pensions

Pension Advice

There are many different types of pensions available; from final salary pensions through to Self Invested Personal Pensions and Small Self-Administered Schemes, with plenty more besides. Choosing which is best for you can be incredibly difficult - and this is where expert advice is required to ensure you take the right option.

What We Do

From our first meeting, one of our financial advisers will work with you to establish what your retirement goals are. From there, they will establish  what your existing pensions may give you and whether these are as effective as they could be. The adviser will consider how your current planning can be improved upon (for example if you have multiple pension plans could they be consolidated to reduce charges or improve your benefits?)

They will then advise you on any shortfalls you may have and show you how to fill them.

At TPD  we'll work with you to help you best plan for your future retirement.

Our Services

They'll work alongside you to discuss everything from your investments to other options that are available to you to help you prepare for the future. They have access to a wealth of knowledge which can help you secure the best deal and minimise the risk of you losing any money in the process.

Personal Pensions

Most people in the UK will have a personal pension scheme in place to financially support themselves and provide a retirement income. However, navigating pensions can feel like a dark art. We provide pension advice that can help with retirement planning. Our financial advisers can provide personalised advice on everything from the tax on your pension pot, to the benefits of switching your pension provider, so that you are in the best place for retirement.

Pension Tracing

There are many free pension tracing schemes available that analyse not just your National Insurance record, but also the different pension pots that you have contributed to throughout your working life. Once you have traced all the pension schemes that you have been a part of, we then recommend that you speak to one of our regulated financial advisers to recieve reliable pension advice on what pension options are available to you.

Pension Switching

Pension switching involves switching from one pension scheme to another with a different provider. Sometimes the features and benefits offered by one provider's pension might outweigh those offered by your current plan so to improve your outcome switching may be beneficial.

For example this could mean you paying lower charges or having more flexibility.

However, this can come with several risks that need to be carefully considered. For example by switching would you lose any valuable guarantees or would switching actually cost you more in fees than you would save?

Our financial advisers are here to provide you with the guidance you need so you can make fully informed decisions.

Pension Consolidation

Consolidating your pensions can be a great way of improving your retirement position. By pooling all your pension together you could reduce your overall level of charges, improve performance and allow you access to the most up to date retirement options and technologies.

However, there can also be penalties, increased charges or loss of valuable guarantees when consolidating, so it is important to seek professional financial advice to ensure that you are making the best decisions.
